Medicine Making in the Garden

a hands-on evening exploring plant magic

  • When: Wednesday, Sept 25th
    Where: Rising Iris Farm
    Time: 5:30-7:30pm
    Investment:  $111

  • Join clinical herbalist, Nasya Camacho, at Rising Iris Farm for an evening exploring plant magic for seasonal support through the Fall. Medicine making as a collective has been a simple + sweet, yet deeply healing practice for centuries, bringing humans + plants back into reciprocity and connection with each other.

Using medicinal plants + kitchen medicine, we’ll create two herbal preparations for the colder months:
𖦹 Fire Cider — a spicy tonic traditionally used as an immune booster, digestive aid, and cold/flu remedy during the winter months
𖦹 Herbal Respiratory salve — using herbs for lung support that are known for aiding breathing, chest congestion and supporting cold/flu symptoms

There will be tea to ground us into the energy of the season, as we learn about the benefits of the herbs we work with and share stories of traditional folk medicine, on a cozy September eve.

There will be plenty of herbs + spices to taste, smell, touch. Each person will go home with a jar of fire cider, a medicinal salve and a growing relationship with the wisdom of plants.

  • 𖦹 fire cider take home jar
    𖦹 1oz herbal respiratory salve
𖦹 fall tea blend to enjoy together

    Investment: $55

(deadline to sign up — thurs, sept 26)

  • Autumn, in traditional herbalism, is a time of transition — to let go and start new. During this season, the earth begins to move its essence inward to our roots, embodying the need for grounding amongst the strong currents of change. Now is the time to preserve that warmth to carry us through the colder months to come.

As we enjoy a warm cup of tea, we'll learn about traditional ways to support respiratory + digestive health with food, herbs and remedies for the colder months. Together we'll prepare Fire Cider, a traditional spicy tonic known for its benefits as an immune booster + digestive aid during the winter months. Participants will go home with their own jar, a wealth of kitchen medicine wisdom and a deeper understanding of various herbal allies.

The Heart-Mind Connection 𓆙

  • When: Sunday, February 11th, 2024
    Where: Rebel Yoga, Thornwood, NY
    Investment: $88

  • In most all traditional cultures, mind-body-spirt are not seen as separate. The way we feel + the way we think are actually the same. Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine consider this connection, the heart-mind — to find balance within the mind and body, means to deeply nourish + support the needs of the heart, both physically + emotionally.

Through heart centered movement + pranayama, we will uncover areas of tension within our body while being guided to expand our capacity for (self) love, creating a safe space for a deep release. Following movement, we’ll weave in herbal practices + explore a range of plant medicine to support emotional balance + overall well-being. After engaging your senses + gaining more knowledge on our herbal allies, we’ll each create a personalized heart centered tea blend to take home and enjoy! All you need to bring is a notebook + an open heart.
